About us
Find peace in a small Latvian fishing village. Jurmalciems is a small fishing village only 69km away from Klaipeda. Stay with us to find peace and quiet at our cozy cottage Kalvinas. The cottage is totally separate and only 200m from the sea. Jurmalciemis beach – a wild, quiet and very wide beach (about 100m wide) – even during peak season there‘s not a lot of people. So if you‘re searching for a calm and relaxing holiday, you‘ll find it at Kalvinas.
Activities
- The village has a convenience store, a smoke house for freshly caught fish of the day (the smoke house operates on its own hours, depending on the catch). You can also purchase fresh fish from the fishermen (if they catch anything that day).
- Fishing with local fishermen or a sea tour with a local fishing boat (availability depends on the fishermen’s work load that day).
- Only a bike ride away is Pusenai sand hill with a viewing platform – one of the highest Latvian dunes.
- A bike ride away is Pape village that’s absolutely loved by Lithuanians, Pape lake where lots of pike can be caught (as we’re told). A boat for fishing can be rented in Pape village.

Cozy cottage
A super cozy cottage by the sea for rent in the Latvian fishing village Jurmalciems, 200m from the sea, 69 km from Klaipeda.
Suitable for 6 guests: 2 adults + 4 children or 4 adults and 2 children.
In the cottage: one double bed (180x200), one double smaller bed (140x180) and a bunk bed for children. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a refrigerator with a freezer, a microwave and the necessary utensils. The cottage is fully equipped with indoor and outdoor showers. The cottage is 34 m2.
Wide white sandy beach - only 200m away. The seaside is very suitable for children, because the sea is shallow, there are no pits. There are very few people on the beach even during summer, so if you want a quiet holiday - this cottage is for you.
In the village there is a shop, a smokehouse for freshly caught fish (opens depending on fish availability), the opportunity to order fresh fish from the fishermen (if there is a catch that morning). It is possible to go fishing with fishermen or have fun at sea during the day (depending on the possibilities of the fishermen). Nearby (accessible by bicycle) you will find Pušėnai hill with an observation deck – it’s one of the highest dunes in Latvia.
